Comfort & support
How is prenatal massage different from a regular massage?
The positioning and conversation are specific to pregnancy. We use supported side-lying with pillows and bolsters, and adjust pressure and position to your comfort at each visit. Tell your therapist if a position becomes uncomfortable or you need a break.
A previous preference for firm massage does not automatically carry over to a prenatal appointment. Share what you want to focus on, such as a relaxing visit or comfortable attention to the back and shoulders, alongside any restrictions from your maternity provider.
Check in each time
Your needs can change between appointments. Update the therapist about your stage of pregnancy, symptoms and clinical advice, even if you have visited the studio before.
Before booking
When should I speak with my maternity provider first?
If you are in the first trimester or your pregnancy is being followed closely, bring your provider's go-ahead and discuss it with us before arranging the session. Tell us about pregnancy complications, blood pressure concerns or a history of blood clots. The decision is individual, not a guarantee based on trimester alone.
AMTA's pregnancy massage discussion describes the importance of adapting the work to pregnancy. Massage supports a comfort-focused visit; it does not replace prenatal appointments or evaluate new symptoms. Contact your maternity team about new concerning pain, swelling, bleeding or feeling unwell.
Time & price
How much does a prenatal massage cost?
Our listed card rates are $78 for 45 minutes, $85 for 60 minutes, $105 for 75 minutes, $126 for 90 minutes and $168 for 120 minutes. Choose a length you expect to find comfortable rather than assuming more time is always better.
If you need frequent position changes or are unsure about a longer visit, call to discuss the appointment before booking. The menu offers choices, but suitability still depends on the conversation about your pregnancy.
Prepare
What should I do before my first prenatal massage?
Choose Prenatal Massage in the booking menu and make sure the studio knows you are pregnant. This allows the visit to be planned around appropriate positioning and your current needs.
- Discuss massage with your maternity provider when needed, especially in the first trimester or a closely monitored pregnancy.
- Tell the studio your stage of pregnancy and any relevant restrictions before the appointment.
- Complete the Square health form in advance and bring the guidance you were asked to provide.
- At the visit, ask for changes to pillows, pressure or positioning whenever you need them.
A thoughtful gift
Can I buy prenatal massage as a gift?
Yes. A Healing Touch gift card lets the recipient decide when and whether to book after discussing their pregnancy. It is more flexible than reserving a surprise appointment without knowing their schedule or medical guidance.
For a Mother's Day gift, the recipient can also choose a later visit or a suitable facial service. A gift card does not establish that a treatment is appropriate during pregnancy; discuss the actual service first.

Before You Book
Prenatal Massage in Staunton, VA: questions we get asked
Will I have to lie on my stomach?
Our prenatal massage uses supported side-lying with pillows and bolsters. Discuss your comfort and any positioning restrictions before and during the appointment.
Can I book during the first trimester?
Speak with your maternity provider and the studio first. Our menu asks for your provider's go-ahead in the first trimester or when your pregnancy is being followed closely.
Is prenatal massage always safe for every pregnancy?
No blanket guarantee is appropriate. Share your history and follow your maternity provider's guidance; some situations require adapting or postponing the appointment.
Can I request firm pressure?
The listed approach is light to moderate pressure adjusted to your comfort. Discuss your preference and any restrictions rather than assuming a deep tissue session is interchangeable.
How much is a one-hour prenatal massage?
The current 60-minute card rate is $85. Other appointment lengths are listed on the page.
Can a gift-card recipient choose a different service?
Yes. A Healing Touch e-gift card is a balance for eligible menu services, rather than an obligation to have prenatal massage. The recipient chooses after discussing suitability.
